Recipe : Famous Pecel ( Javanese Vegetarian Dish )
Pecel is one of vegetarian dish from Javanese. Its quitely similiar to Betawinese Gado - Gado but it Javanese version. This veggetarian dish pretty simple to made and absollutely so healthy. Kindly serve with side garnish such as fried fish/ chicken Now lets make your own pecel.
Main Ingredients :
- 250 gr peanuts (fried, grindd until smooth texture)
- 2 tbsp tamarind juice
- 200 ml hot water
- 5 red chillies
- 5 birds eye red chillies
- 5 lime leaves
- 3 cm Cutcherry ( Alpinia galanga)
- 5 garlic cloves, fried
- 1/2 tsp shrimp paste
- 25 gr coconut sugar
- Salt to taste
- Boiled vegetable ( long beans, rice vermicilli, spinach, turi flower, etc)
- crackers/ salted fish rempeyek
How To Make :
- In a food processor or using mortal and pestle grind all spices except hot water, peanuts, boiled vegetable, rempeyek and tamarind juice.
- Mixed the peanuts and the spices paste. Add tamarind juice and hot water. Mix well.
- Plate the boiled vegetable and rempeyek / crackers on a dish plate then pour the sambal which already mixed well.
- Javanese pecel ready to serve.
