Recipe : Famous Pecel ( Javanese Vegetarian Dish )


    Pecel is one of vegetarian dish from Javanese. Its quitely similiar to Betawinese Gado - Gado but it Javanese version. This veggetarian dish pretty simple to made and absollutely so healthy.  Kindly serve with side garnish such as fried fish/ chicken Now lets make your own pecel.


Main Ingredients :
  1. 250 gr peanuts (fried, grindd until smooth texture)
  2. 2 tbsp tamarind juice
  3. 200 ml hot water
  4. 5 red chillies
  5. 5 birds eye red chillies
  6. 5 lime leaves
  7. 3 cm Cutcherry ( Alpinia galanga)
  8. 5 garlic cloves, fried
  9. 1/2 tsp shrimp paste
  10. 25 gr coconut sugar
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Boiled vegetable ( long beans, rice vermicilli, spinach, turi flower, etc)
  13. crackers/ salted fish rempeyek
How To Make :
  1. In a food processor or using mortal and pestle grind all spices  except hot water, peanuts, boiled vegetable, rempeyek and tamarind juice.
  2. Mixed the peanuts and the spices paste. Add tamarind juice and hot water. Mix well.
  3. Plate the boiled vegetable and rempeyek / crackers on a dish plate then pour the sambal which already mixed well. 
  4. Javanese pecel ready to serve.
