Recipe : Famous Cat Tongue Cake ( Lidah Kucing)
Lidah Kucing or Cat Tongue Cake in english is a popular cake at Indonesia while IED Fitri celebration. This cake call cat tongue because the oval shape and not too big sized make that look like cat tongue. How to make this cat tongue cake is super simple! Nowadays many variant of cat tongue cake, but here the original recipe, and also some tips about other variant. Lets move to the recipe!
Main Ingredient :
- 200 gr flour
- 250 gr butter/ margarin
- 140 gr sugar powder
- 3 eggs ( only white eggs)
- 50 gr maizena
Topping :
- Cheese {Optional for variant version }( can subtituted with other like choco chip or anything else)
Note : If you want make some variant in colour, you can add some colour flavouring to make it colouful.

How To Make :
- Sift the flour and maizena
- Mixer the margarin with sugar powder until fluffy or in around 2 minutes
- Add the eggs and whisk it again for 3 minutes.
- Add the sifted flour and maizena. Mix it by spatula. For any flavour, you can add cheese or anything you like in this part.
- Put the dough into a cake plastic and cut one side corner
6. Then, split the dough into the cake pan ( it better if you have the cat tongue molding cake).
7. Toast it in 150 degree celcius for 30 minutes or until the colour is yellow golden and has crunchy textures.
8. Your Cat Tongue cake ready to serve.
